sleep paralysis/old hag syndrome

I used to get these all the time. i don't know why. now it stopped.

I heard it more often occurs to those who sleep on their back. I think the mind is awake in a dream like state but the body is unresponsive. I don't have much experience with it but I have loads of experience with hypnagognic hallucinations which are similar in nature that they are related to sleep, waking and going to bed. I can sometimes see hallucinations that are part of my dream for the 1st 20 or so seconds of waking up and bad nightmares that become lucid but it all falls under sleep disorders.
