Poems by Cherry

Slowly you dance,
Ever so slowly you twirl to the wind's beat,
Parts of you forming a little foggy haze,
Your golden beauty dazzles the corners of Sahara,
As the sky bows to your poise and irresistible grace,
The lands you've birthed,
And the civilizations you've witnessed crumble,
From a pyramid to a sandcastle,
Your mystery withstands the duration of what mankind held,
My poetic veins gushes with love as I watch you in amaze,
Because dust or sand,
You stand tall in flight and that's something I have yet to learn.

it takes two to tango,
or so the saying went,
But she walks with heart on her sleeves,
Tiptoeing her way through this paradigm shift,
Treading through fragments of glass shards,
And unopened promises,
Ghastly characters, and some lovable ones in the midst,
But how to trust, who to let in,
Which bond to permit to her soul's border,
One that doesn't dice,
That doesn't belittle but rather cherishes her dignity,
These hot bed of nails fiercely glued on heart,
Imprisoning her youth in a cell filled with ambivalence,
So she continues to walk on,
Arms tightly grasping her wrist,
Don't go she hears,
Don't go come back, a voice screams,
Don't go please stay, tears reduces the yell into a gingerly whisper,
But now the voice is so faint,
She sprints and that causes a greater bridge,
Fingerprints now etched onto her wrist,
Timely reminder of all that was let go,
Against her will but due for the sake of fear's sanity,
See, her fear was built on years of rejection,
And the loneliness was where fear thrived in,
As long as it was solo and duo ceases,
There won't be any ache or so it reasons,
As she continues to walk on,
All four walls strongly erect up,
Beneath fear there is a little yearn to turn back,
Just to catch a little glimpse of what she'd could of held,
And when she finally did,
All that was left,
Was empty space and a land with regrets,
It takes two to tango,
And that's finally cutting through fear's presence.

Beautifully written.

Most expressive and soul-reaching, heartfelt.

Great momentum, creating a pulse / cadence.

Cherry, these are wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing with us
I love them both but this one in particular. Please keep them coming

Maya oh sweet maya,
The emblem of illusion,
You are what people see,
As a beautiful comfort,
The ink of a writer's pen,
You thrive in tales of deception,
The weapon against reality,
You leave people comatose,
Embedded in sweet lies,
Of pain and complete raven,
A culprit that hides in sweet comfort,
You rain insecurities and struggles,
Blinding people from the absolute truth,
The oneness that connects us,
Has become remnant of utter division,
Maya oh sweet maya,
You are an allure,
But its time you vanish and part,
Goodbye.

Thank you owls and Sam. <3
