Chat Compatibility

Hey Steve/all,

With the current trend of Java API being removed/blocked from browsers it seems that the method of chat may have to change again in the near future.

I propose that perhaps we run an IRC server. Seems that AnybodyThere is already running on a Linux 3 kernel. IRCD with TCL scripting seems to be pretty easy patch into whichever interface that you'd wish. There are web-based IRC clients in Perl, Javascript, PHP, etc...

Depending on the IRCD configuration you could emulate the same structure that admins and moderators are used to experiencing. 🙂
